Sony has officially unveiled the PlayStation VR2, the next generation of its virtual reality headset for the PlayStation 5. The PS VR2 boasts significant upgrades, including a 4K HDR OLED display, eye-tracking technology, and a 110-degree field of view, providing gamers with a more immersive and visually stunning experience.
The new headset also features improved haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, enhancing the tactile sensation of VR interactions. The PS VR2 Sense controllers, designed to work seamlessly with the headset, offer precise tracking and intuitive controls.
Additionally, the PS VR2 includes inside-out tracking, eliminating the need for external cameras by using integrated sensors to track movements and position accurately.
Sony has announced that several high-profile games, including exclusive VR titles, are in development to take full advantage of the PS VR2’s capabilities. The PlayStation VR2 is expected to launch in early 2025, with pre-orders starting later this year. This new release aims to solidify Sony’s position in the rapidly growing VR gaming market.
