Ethereum’s core developers have scheduled the highly anticipated Dencun upgrade, which is expected to introduce several key improvements to the network.
Dencun is the next major upgrade following the “Merge” and includes two Ethereum Improvement Proposals (EIPs): EIP-4844 (Proto-Danksharding) and EIP-4788.
Proto-Danksharding is designed to improve the scalability of Ethereum by reducing data storage costs, while EIP-4788 enhances the communication between the Ethereum consensus layer and its execution layer, making the network more efficient.
The Dencun upgrade is part of Ethereum’s long-term roadmap to become more scalable, secure, and sustainable. With its implementation, Ethereum will be better positioned to support the growing demand for decentralized applications (dApps) and DeFi services.
