The Ethereum network is on the brink of a major upgrade with the impending completion of Ethereum 2.0.
The final testnet, dubbed “Merge Testnet,” has been successfully launched, bringing the network closer to transitioning from Proof of Work (PoW) to Proof of Stake (PoS).
This upgrade aims to significantly improve the network’s scalability, security, and energy efficiency. Ethereum 2.0 will introduce shard chains, enabling parallel transaction processing and reducing congestion.
The community anticipates that these changes will enhance the platform’s ability to support decentralized applications (dApps) and DeFi projects, further solidifying Ethereum’s position in the blockchain ecosystem.
