Ethereum Developers Announce Dencun Upgrade for 2024

Posted on

Ethereum developers have announced plans for the next major network upgrade, dubbed “Dencun,” which is expected to be implemented in early 2024.

This upgrade will focus on improving scalability and data availability, which are crucial for Ethereum’s ongoing transition to a proof-of-stake (PoS) network and the development of Ethereum 2.0.

One of the key features of the Dencun upgrade is proto-danksharding, a scaling solution that will allow Ethereum to process more transactions per second while keeping costs low.

Additionally, the upgrade will introduce enhancements to Ethereum’s Layer-2 networks, further reducing congestion and improving the user experience for decentralized applications (dApps) and decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols.

Dencun is part of Ethereum’s long-term roadmap to become the most scalable and secure blockchain network.
