Ethereum developers have introduced a new proposal, EIP-4844, aimed at significantly reducing gas fees on the network.
The proposal, also known as “Proto-Danksharding,” is designed to implement a form of sharding that enables more efficient data processing without the full implementation of traditional sharding.
By introducing “blobs” of data that can be processed more cheaply, EIP-4844 is expected to lower transaction costs for users and make Ethereum more accessible for decentralized applications (dApps) and DeFi projects.
The proposal has garnered strong support from the Ethereum community and is seen as a critical step in scaling the network and maintaining its competitive edge as other blockchains continue to offer lower fees.
